Cluster_2 continues Boris Petrovsky’s exploration of neon as both material object and luminous sign. Like other works from the Cluster Series, the piece is composed of found neon letterforms that once belonged to urban signage. Removed from their original communicative function, the fragments are reassembled into a new sculptural constellation.
In Petrovsky’s clusters, individual letters lose their linguistic clarity and become lines, curves and glowing gestures in space. What once served to transmit information is transformed into a field of visual associations, hovering between writing, drawing and sculpture.
The work can be suspended from the ceiling or mounted on a pedestal, emphasizing its spatial character and the way the luminous forms interact with their surroundings.
